About the Program
Bridgeport Public Schools Community Wi‑Fi Initiative

At Bridgeport Public Schools, we believe every student deserves access to the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed. Thanks to support from the State of Connecticut’s Community Wi‑Fi Initiative, the district is expanding free community internet access to help students and families stay connected both at school and at home.
This effort will bring reliable Wi‑Fi service to several community housing neighborhoods, helping students access homework, online learning resources, college and career information, and other essential digital services. The initiative builds upon the district’s existing wireless network and reflects our commitment to digital equity for all students.
The project is made possible through the Connecticut Education Network (CEN) Community Wi‑Fi Grant Program, which supports schools and community organizations across Connecticut in expanding internet access to underserved communities. Through this partnership, Bridgeport is helping ensure that more families can participate fully in today’s connected world.
In addition to this important state support, Bridgeport Public Schools is grateful for the generous support of the Rotary Club of Bridgeport, whose commitment to education and community service continues to make a positive difference in the lives of our students and families.
Together, these partnerships represent a shared investment in educational opportunity, community connection, and a stronger future for the children and families of Bridgeport.
